The Birthday Wish Movie [#Review]

A successful commercials director expects her boyfriend to propose New Year's Eve and again at her 30th birthday. She gets a different surprise after she makes her birthday wish when blowing out the birthday candle: a glimpse into her future. she wishes to see her life ten years ahead. Her vision doesn't include her present boyfriend and she doesn’t resemble anything she’s ever imagined for herself.

I enjoyed the movie. It was a simple movie along the sides of a love-comedy.

I would definitely recommend this movie to all my lady friends.

My rating would be: 8/10

Avon Luck for Her - [#Product Review]

I always saw this fragrance in the Avon Catalogues but the packaging never really caught my attention. At first sight I thought that it was a perfume more likely to be used by elderly people.

One day, while my mum ordered her all time favourite Faraway perfume she found out that it was out of stock. Even though I hadn't tried the Avon Luck I asked her to give it a try and I have a good feeling that it must be good.

When we received the product, which we paid £12 for the set below, I was quite surprised.

The perfume smelled great and I instantly regretted not having tried it before.

I asked my mother if I could have the body lotion and I was very happy with it.

An overall review of this product would be as per my comments below:

Fragrance wise I have no complaints really. However, the presentation as I already mentioned seemed a little old school to my taste. It is very affordable as the whole set was priced at the price of the perfume only.

Overall, I would totally recommend this perfume to anyone.

I myself will be buying this again very soon.

Savinia Bistrot - Bagatelle Mall

My fiancé and I went for dinner at Savinia Bistrot at the Bagatelle Mall of Mauritius.

Official Website: http://saviniabistrot.mu/

Every time we passed by the restaurant we would be amazed by the number of people sitting around and the wine collection on the side.

Last December, I decided to take my Fiance out on a Pre-Birthday dinner.

For the menu, I checked online on:

http://saviniabistrot.mu/index.php/main-menu/

Given that there were a lot of choices, we decided to start with the starters first and then order the main menu...

We ordered 2 Martini Biano as drinks:

The quantity that we received was shocking. We've been to other places where the drinks are served much more generously than this.

We then ordered:

  • Cocktail de crevettes, sauce Marie Rose
  • Gratins de Palmiste
  • Gratin fruits de mer

We ate the "cocktail de crevettes" first... Frankly I really did not like it.. It felt like I was eating a simple lettuce salad with two shrimps. There were 4 shrimps in total and we had 2 each.

The shrimps were not deveined so it had a gross smell. I really did not like this menu.

After the "cocktail de crevettes" we tried the "Gratins de Palmiste".

Reasonably, between all three we found that the "Gratins de Palmiste" had a better taste. However, it was an average Gratin, we've had better.

We then moved on to "Gratin fruits de mer"

At first wight, I was so excited to dig in this succulent cheesy Gratin but one bite and my stomach started to swirl. It had an abundant amount of salt. I actually felt like I was eating a spoonful of salt.

I immediately started to feel unwell and when the waitress came to ask our order for the main course. We simply denied and asked for the cheque.

I was completely disappointed with this restaurant.

After my experience, I asked a few friends if they've been to that restaurant and their views on it.

I rarely received a positive feedback. They were all mostly disappointed for the quality of the food. The only positive feedback I received was vis a vis the Lamb menus that it has.

Unfortunately, I don't eat Lamb so I wouldn't know.

For those, who've actually been to this Restaurant, please share your views.

Avon Attraction [#Product Review]

Attraction by Avon is a Floral Woody Musk fragrance for women. This is a new fragrance in the Avon Line. Attraction was launched in 2015. The nose behind this fragrance is Honorine Blanc. Top notes are pear, blackberry and pink pepper; middle notes are jasmine, black orchid and musk; base notes are amber, madagascar vanilla, praline and labdanum.

I discovered the Avon Attraction when it was first launched in Mauritius. Avon was distributing free samples for the EDP for Him and for Her.

The Avon Attraction for Her comes in a golden bottle and the Avon Attraction for Him comes in a grayish bottle.

Product Claims:

Designed to draw you closer together, the magnetic, woody fruity scent of Avon Attraction for Her brings hour after hour of undeniable attraction. Captivate their senses with tempting blackberry, magnetic musk accord and vanilla amber. A seductive scent that lasts from day to night.

General views of the product by the Public:

Most of the people that have used this product find it great. It must be only a handful that have actually hated the product. Well, not everyone has the same taste.

Many Men have claimed that their wives have a feel good factor when they wear the Avon Attraction For Him and many Ladies have claimed likewise. In that case, we should really deem that lovers do get more attracted when the perfume is sprayed. Hence, the perfume does make justice to its name.

Our Views:

On seeing people rave on the product we decided to actually give it a try. We bought the for Him and for Her perfumes and used it simultaneously. My perfume lasted longer than that of my fiancé though the for Him packaging seemed bigger. We both liked the scent for both genders. It is quite appealing to the nose.

We both felt that the Avon Attraction for Her is a strong perfume on the women’s line and does last for the whole day. Unlike that of the Avon Attraction For Him which seems to be a lighter perfume on the Men’s line and does not last for the whole day.

I bought mine in Malaysia and this product is available in both Guardian and Watsons and costs less than RM25.

It is amongst my most favourite serums I’ve used.

The only disadvantage I see with the product is that it finishes to fast.

I am not sure whether it evaporates or I simply just use to much of it. :D

Elseve Argile Extraordinaire Shampooing Argile - [#Product Review]

This Shampoo has been one of the new ones in the Elseve/Elvive Line.

I have been struggling to find shampoos that actually go well with my hair. My hair tends to get greasy super fast.

During Summer I might just have to shampoo everyday which is not very good for my hair and during Winter I shampoo every other day.

Let me share with you my views on the Elseve Argile Shampoo

(F.I.L. C179833/1).

Net Weight:

250 ml

How to use?

Apply to wet hair, carefully massage the entire scalp and then rinse. For an optimal result, complete your beauty ritual with the rest of the Extra Clay range. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately.

Benefits:

L'Oréal Paris Laboratories have combined 3 ARGILES FINES to purify and reveal the beauty of your hair.
• 72H of purity and lightness *. The hair is incredibly fresh. • Deeply hydrated, the lengths are loose, perfectly fluid and aerial to the tips. • Revitalized, the hair is brilliant health. Texture Unpublished Care WITHOUT SILICONE

What I think?

The oil from our scalp can build up causing the roots of our hair to become visibly greasy, weighing down the hair. However upon using this shampoo I did realise that my hair had more volume and had a glossiness that was inexplicable. I loved the new look of my hair.

Though the look of my hair had improved, my hair remained greasy and it did not really solve my problem. I used only the shampoo and not the whole set.

I will try the whole set in the near future and come back to you guys with my updated review.

If you have tried this product or used any shampoo that can help me in combating my greasy hair issue, please comment in the comment bar below.
