Yves Rocher - Apple Star Anise Refreshing Shower Gel

Claims from Yves Rocher:

Feel the pleasure of a refreshing shower

Under the shower, discover the refreshing scent of crisp Apple combined with the essential oil of Star Anise*. Enriched with soothing organic Aloe Vera gel, this shower gel gently cleanses your skin, leaving it delicately scented with refreshing notes.

Secret of the Botanical: Yves Rocher selected Apple for its tangy scent and combined it with the essential oil of Star Anise* to reveal all its fruity freshness. This refreshing blend evokes the sensation of biting into a crisp apple under the hot sun on a summer afternoon.

Botanical ingredients: Apple water, Star Anise essential oil contained in the fragrance, Aloe Vera Gel from Organic Farming
100% recyclable bottle
Botanical cleansing base
Paraben free.

* Essential oils contained in the fragrance

I find the product to be very unique as this combination of Apple and Star Anise is the first time I've tried.

The product comes in three sizes: 50ml, 200ml and 400ml.

I have used this quite a few times and it is quite refreshing.

The only time I did purchase the product is when I purchased the 200ml one for Rs125 (Mauritian Rupee). However, the other times I only received them as gifts.

I am not a very great fan of this shower gel. I won't personally repurchase it.

If you think likewise or differently please let me know in the comment boxes below.

1. Avon Pore Penetrating Invigorating Scrub

I bought this product as there was a promotion in the Avon Brochure and felt like giving it a try. However, I was not satisfied with it and I don't think that I would repurchase this product.

2. Avon Far Away Shower Gel

I have been using this shower gel from time to time over the years as I simply love the scent. It has changed packaging over the years as well.

3. Yves Rocher Fleur de Tiare Shower Gel

This is one of the cheapest shower gel I have ever used and I am in love with its scent. It is very different from the other shower gels I usually use. The best thing about it is that after the shower, even the bathroom is left with an overpowering scent.

4. Benefit BAD gal Lash Mascara

This is known to be one of the best mascaras being sold around the world. But this one did not work well for me. I found that it smudged and flaked - it made me feel that I had racoon eyes after I wore it throughout the day. Not a best buy for me.

5. EDP Nina L'eau

This perfume was the first perfume my better half gifted me and hence meant a lot to me. I would totally recommend this to the girls out there. It really lasted me a long way

AVON Pore Penetrating Invigorating Scrub - [Product Review]

As you might already know, I was exposed to the Avon brand at a very early age and this is yet another product that I've tried and wanted to share my views on.

This product claims to lift away pore-clogging dirt and excess oil with its pore firming technology.

This product has a light mint scent and is of green colour with small granules. As all face scrubs it has to be massaged onto wet face and rinsed thoroughly.

Personally, the minty scent of this product leaves you under the impression that the product has left your face clean and fresh but it actually is quite harsh to the skin. I have not really felt that it has removed the excess oil or unclogged my pores. If you have felt differently with this product please let me know.

Pros:

- Cheap
- 75ml so helps for travelling
- left my skin smooth and soft

Cons:

- Did not help to unclog pores or remove the excess dirt as it claims to
- Harsh on skin because of tingling sensation
- Not suitable for people with sensitive or dry skin.

I would not repurchase this product as it has not helped me as much as I wished that it had.

BADgal lash mascara by Benefit Cosmetics

When I hear of the BADgal Lash Mascara the promotional phrase "It's as BAD as you want to be" really connects as it should.

The product claims to be sexy, dramatic, pure unadulterated black mascara for full, voluminous lashes. Famously big brush coats lashes with the thick black formula.

It also claims to be:

- Voluptous
-Voluminous

-Beyond black lashes

This retails for £17.50 in the UK.

I first saw this mascara during one of my numerous tours in Sephora but had not decided to buy me one.

One bright day, a friend gifted me this mascara when she came back from the UK. Upon trying it, I really did find it give my lashes more volume. However, over the uses this faded and I was not that happy with it.

Pros:
-Big brush
-Gives that bold lash look
-Comes out really easily with the makeup remover

Cons:
-Smudges
-Flakes

Unlike many people, I am not a very great fan of this mascara. If you have this mascara and are unsure on how to use it you may refer to the below video...

Let me have your views.

Yves Rocher - Gel Douche Fleur de Tiare

I personally love most of the Yves Rocher Shower Gels - This is simply because they smell amazing and they are very cheap. I usually buy mine for Rs89 (Mauritian Rupee) which is normally like $2.50 or GBP1.50.

This one in particular - Tiare Flower is a very nice one. It has a marvelous smell which is quite oriental.

I would definitely repurchase this product. In terms of size, this holds 200ml of product and usually lasts me for two weeks if used twice to three times a day.

Broadway Fried Rice

Last Saturday we went round Port Louis and decided to check out the Champ de Mars Horse Race Track of Mauritius. On our way back to the center of Port Louis we found a restaurant on our left named Broadway and we decided to go in for Lunch.

To find your way to the restaurant, see the link below:

It is situated at 36 Rue Pope, Hennessay, Port Louis and it cannot be missed as it is a bright green building.

The restaurant has a very cosy feeling as the furniture is all of white colour combined with table cloth of all sorts of bright colours mainly orange and green.

My better half and I both decided to take the 'Riz Frite Broadway' as recommended by the waitress and for drink, I took the ice tea.

Our views on both the iced tea and fried rice would be: "Lickinglicious"

The 'Broadway Riz Frite' is a combination of normal fried rice with a sauteed chicken and vegetables in a delicious sauce. We wouldn't mind eating this again and again.

The service is quite slow but overall in terms of price and in terms of taste of the food we would give it a 10 out of 10.

The Broadway Fried Rice is sold at Rs160 and one portion is too much for me but well enough for my better half. Hence, you can decide to either share it or have one each.
