The great thing about baking soda is that it is not only cheaper than most products out there on the market but it does not have any chemicals in it and does not harm your body.
Read further to find 5 ways you can use Baking Soda for your Beauty Routine:
1. Helps with Dry Skin
Whether you have dry skin on your face or on any parts of your body you can use a Baking Soda Mask to help you get rid of this.
What you need to do is take some baking soda, mix it with water and make a paste. Apply to the Dry Skin Area as a paste and leave on for 1 hour or so. After rinsing off the mask you will see that your skin is smoother than before and the dry skin has been healed a little. Use this procedure consistently as a mask 3 to 4 times a week until you no more have the dry skin problem.
2. Helps your hair to get its natural smoothness back
If you have noticed that your hair seemed dull and lifeless and no more has that natural shine that it once had. This might be due to the amount of chemicals in your everyday shampoo or other hair products. Oil does help to bring back the glossiness and make your hair more lively but baking soda does help too.
To use baking soda in your hair: Take some baking soda and mix it with your hair shampoo and shampoo your hair as usual. Since no chemicals are involved in baking soda this is not harsh on your hair.
3. Soft Skin
We women tend to enjoy some relaxing moments in our bath tub to make our skin softer. However, we don't realise that the products we normally use contain harsh chemicals and can cause rashes in certain areas of our body. Specially, those with very sensitive skin.
An alternative would be to use half a cup or a cup of baking soda (according to skin type) in the bath tub mixing with the normal amount of water you usually relax yourself. This will soften your skin.
To enhance your experience you can light up some scented candles to feel more relaxed since the baking soda does not have that much of a smell.
4. Pedicure
You can have an at home pedicure with baking soda. What you have to do is use three tablespoon of baking soda, put it in warm water and let it soak for around 30 minutes.
If you have rough skin on your heels what you can do after soaking your feet for 30 minutes, is take some baking soda and drops of water and use it as a scrub to get rid of those parts. And soak your feet for another 30 minutes.
Tip: You can add essential oils to the mixture where you soak your feet for a more relaxing experience.
5. At Home Spa
If you wish to have an at home spa experience then it is not difficult with the use of baking soda.
What you have to do is mix a cup of baking soda and mix it with water to make a very thick paste with it. Then you can add a few drops of essential oil depending on how strong you want it.
You can also mix a few different flavours of you choice to find out your favourite.
Pour this mixture into cup cakes liners to have a couple of uses.
Keep the mixture overnight so that it hardens itself.
Then when you wish to have your at home spa experience, take one of the liners and drop the mixture to the floor of your steamed shower.
Then all you have to do is relax and enjoy!
